Rigg was commissioned by an office fit-out company to manufacture a bespoke, special quadrilateral shaped table.
The top was a skewed form compared to a regular model, which you might describe as a wedge or tapered. The material was birch plywood with HPL. Rounded corners gave the piece a gentler, more friendly aspect. It was made in 2 parts to ease delivery and installation. The central joint line featured simple power and data access points. Machining was done in-house at Rigg using CNC equipment. A large overhang was incorporated to allow comfortable meeting use.
Another feature of note on this custom product is the jail-bar style metal base. The vertical welded steel tubes give a decorative effect in addition to adding support. The whole was powder coated in an attractive matte black finish. A similar framework was used in a large tailor made high marble version.
