Gloucester Grammar School Academy wanted a sixth form dining space that felt modern, flexible and welcoming—somewhere students could eat, study and socialise throughout the day. We worked closely with the school to design and manufacture bespoke dining tables and planter units that maximise space, support different group sizes and enhance the overall environment.
The Brief
The academy required:
Durable, low-maintenance furniture for daily student use
Flexible layouts to support both dining and informal study
Zoned areas within an open-plan hall
A contemporary look in keeping with the sixth form identity
UK-made products with reliable lead times
Our Solution
We delivered a coordinated package of large communal tables, smaller bistro-style seating and modular planter dividers. Each piece was designed to balance robustness with a warm, wood-style aesthetic.
Flexible Dining Layouts
Large tables for up to eight students allow groups to dine together comfortably, while their layout can be easily adapted for events or peak lunch periods.
Zoned Spaces with Biophilic Modular Planters
Modular planter shelving acts as a natural room divider, subtly zoning the dining hall without blocking light or visibility. The integrated greenery helps soften the space and create a calmer atmosphere.
Making Use of Every Space
To maximise capacity, we also installed high-level wall-mounted tables with stools and compact two-person bistro tables in underused areas such as beneath staircases—perfect for quick breaks or one-to-one study.
The Result
The finished sixth form centre now offers:
-
A versatile dining and social space
-
Seating options for individuals and groups
-
A bright, contemporary environment students enjoy using
-
Hard-wearing, UK-manufactured furniture built to last
The project successfully transformed the dining hall into a multi-functional hub that supports both wellbeing and community within the sixth form.
