Conwy County Borough Council Disability Services, in partnership with the HFT charity, has launched an inspiring venture aimed at supporting individuals with disabilities in gaining valuable work experience. This initiative, known as the Bryn Euryn Nursery and Café, provides mentoring and practical job training to help participants transition into paid employment.

The cafe is designed to be an inclusive and welcoming space, featuring a variety of seating options tailored to the needs of employees and customers. Large tables seating six to eight people encourage collaboration and social interaction, while smaller plywood tables offer flexibility for independent work or one-on-one mentoring sessions. The vibrant decor, including colourful tables specially crafted for the social care sector, enhances the lively atmosphere of the cafe.

Situated within a garden centre, the cafe not only provides a unique work environment but also fosters community engagement. The orange, blue and other brightly coloured tables in the community can be a focal point where employees gain hands-on experience in customer service, food preparation and teamwork.

Through this initiative in Rhos on Sea, HFT and Conwy County Borough Council are leading positive change. This is principally through offering meaningful career development opportunities to individuals with disabilities. By participating in this programme, employees receive tailored support, boosting their confidence and employability while contributing to an inclusive workforce in Wales.
