Office furniture has changed enormously in character and impact over the years, and flexibility is all important.

According to the aesthetic needed for the office scheme, Rigg can supply a wide variety of frame shapes and top materials and colours. In addition associated items can be fabricated in a matching style. Timber, plywood, laminate, zinc, brass, copper and linoleum are examples of materials used.

Most offices require a large office desk, possibly two depending on the space available. Rigg uses its in-house facilities in the UK to provide long and wide units with special features as needed. Using a variety of materials, we have supplied many products to high-end office fit-outs.

A modern approach is to provide one table for all members of staff rather than individual desks. Each staff member is allocated their own section but share the same space, giving a feeling of common purpose. Cable management features keep the technical elements under control and each section has its own electrical connections, avoiding a spaghetti of wires!

In a busy, dynamic environment it can be helpful to have "floating" positions where personnel from other offices or disciplines can take a seat, plug-in and go. Wi-Fi facilitates the process but careful integration of the devices, especially on a semi ad-hoc basis, is essential to avoid a mess. The use of easily accessible sockets within comfortable reach is a top priority.
